In the heart of Siegen, the Tiergartenstraße is witnessing a significant transformation as the former Kreiswehrersatzamt prepares for a new lease of life. The demolition of a building section is currently underway, with asbestos removal ongoing at the site.

The demolished section on the left will be replaced with a new construction housing a kindergarten and twelve apartments. This is just one part of the extensive renovation plans for the site.

Behind the abbreviation "KiQ" lies the KulturIntegrationsQuartier, currently located in the Hammerhütte on Koblenzer Straße. The KiQ is an abbreviation for KulturIntegrationsQuartier, which stands for Cultural Integration Quarter. The building section on the far right will be the new home of the "KiQ", moving from its current location. Around 25 volunteer associations and groups currently use the KiQ building as an event venue.

The middle part of the massive building will be renovated to accommodate up to 200 refugees, serving as a "buffer" for potential future increases in refugee numbers, according to Wolfgang Cavelius. The renovated middle part, however, will not be used for housing but for accommodating refugees. This renovated part will not contain information about the planned future use of the former Kreiswehrersatzamt, including details about the relocation of the KiQ or any potential renovation for refugee accommodation.

For precise details about the future use of the facility, it is recommended to consult local Siegen municipal announcements, official city planning documents, or news reports from local media covering Siegen’s urban development and refugee accommodation plans. The demolition is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting transformation in Siegen's Tiergartenstraße.

To finance the renovation and construction projects, potential investors are encouraged to explore opportunities in Siegen's thriving real-estate market, particularly in the Tiergartenstraße. The renovated middle part of the former Kreiswehrersatzamt will provide accommodation for up to 200 refugees, indicating a potential investment in the housing-market, especially in affordable housing solutions.
