Markus Splinter, a native of Schlüchtern, has taken on a new challenge as the First Police Commissioner in Maintal, following a successful career within the Offenbach police directorate.

Splinter served as duty group leader at the newly established Offenbach Police Station in August 2021 for about a year, and prior to that, he held positions in the duty group leadership in both Offenbach districts and the police station in Mühlheim. His experience in leadership roles within the Offenbach police directorate has been invaluable, and he expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him.

During a formal ceremony, Anja Wetz, Vice President of the South East Hesse Police Headquarters, presented Splinter with his official appointment document. The event was attended by many leading figures within the Main-Kinzig Police Directorate, including Martin Nickl, the director of the police directorate. All attendees wished Splinter success in his new role.

Splinter is now responsible for the city of Maintal and the municipalities of Schöneck and Niederdorfelden, with a total population of approximately 58,000. He has moved across the Main to Maintal at the beginning of this year, and he values direct communication with his colleagues.

In his new role, Splinter has emphasized two main goals: continuing the good work of his predecessor and ensuring the satisfaction and motivation of his colleagues. He succeeds Andreas Thiem, who is now the head of the police station in Hanau I. Splinter's predecessor as head of the police station in Maintal was Sabine Klein.

Before joining the Offenbach police directorate, Splinter served as a deployment officer with the Bereitschaftspolizei (now Hessian Police Presidency Deployment) in Mühlheim after completing his studies for the higher police service in 2007. Cooking and traveling are Splinter's great passions, and he lives privately with his wife and three children in the Hanau area.

The Police Presidency South Hesse wishes Splinter all the best and much success in his new role. We look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on the community of Maintal and the surrounding areas.
