Workers in Casalese under scrutiny for abusive behavior: Over 10,000 euros in penalties imposed
In a recent operation, the Alessandria Police, in collaboration with the Highway Police of Acqui Terme, have been conducting rigorous checks on two Casalese workshops engaged in vehicle sales and repair activities. The exact locations of these workshops have not been disclosed to the public.
The operation, ongoing throughout the provincial territory, aims to ensure compliance with Italian laws and regulations governing vehicle workshops. The two Casalese workshops under scrutiny were found to be operating in an unauthorized and abusive manner, with the necessary legal requirements lacking.
The workshops, situated in warehouses, were found to be in violation of business licensing and registration norms. They had not registered as a business with the local Chamber of Commerce (Camera di Commercio) nor obtained the required municipal permits.
Moreover, the workshops did not possess the necessary authorization according to Italian Law, including compliance with Legislative Decree 122/1992, which regulates repair shops for motor vehicles and trailers.
Environmental compliance was also a concern, as the workshops were found to be non-compliant with laws concerning waste disposal, emissions, and noise pollution. This includes improper handling of oils, metals, and hazardous materials.
In light of these violations, agents issued a report to the ASL and ARPA for checks on hazardous waste disposal. The equipment of the workshop owners was also seized, and fines totaling approximately 10,000 euros were imposed on each trader.
To regularize their situation, the owners were ordered to comply with all the aforementioned regulations. Failure to do so may result in the permanent closure of their businesses.
It is worth noting that the warehouses housing the workshops are located in a peripheral area, distant from busy roads. The operation underscores the importance of adhering to legal requirements when operating vehicle workshops in Alessandria, Piedmont.
For precise details, it is advisable to consult the Provincia di Alessandria local government offices, the Piedmont Regional Authority, and national regulations from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport or the Ministry of Economic Development.
