In an effort to promote renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions, the city of Gütersloh and the ALTBAUNEU initiative of the district are organising the PV video advisory action. This action, which will be conducted online after the summer holidays, aims to provide private households with advice on PV systems from independent energy experts via video conference.

The PV video advisory action in Gütersloh is open to homeowners, particularly those living in one- to two-family houses. The city's district-wide solar roof cadastre will be utilised for the individual advice, allowing experts to assess the potential of solar power for each property.

The video advice session will last a maximum of 60 minutes and will cover various aspects of solar panel installation, including system concepts, electricity self-consumption, profitability, tendering, and current funding programs. Tips on switching to heat pumps and electric cars, which have contributed to the rise in electricity consumption, will also be provided.

Registrations for the PV video advisory action can be made by phone at 05241 / 82-2129 and 05241 / 82-3919, or by email at umweltschutz@unsere Website. Interested parties are advised to register by Wednesday, 24. September 2025, after which they will receive the access data and further instructions for the video conference.

The boom in photovoltaics is attributed to rising electricity prices, falling module prices, and increasing electricity consumption due to the switch to heat pumps and electric cars. By offering online advice on PV systems for personal roofs, the city of Gütersloh aims to encourage more homeowners to adopt renewable energy sources, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.
