Windpark Sandl Saved: Regulation Delayed, Lynx Protected
The future of the Windpark Sandl in Upper Austria looks brighter. A regulation that could have hindered the project has been delayed until 2026. Meanwhile, the project has been scaled down due to lynx presence.
Initially planned with 22 turbines, the project has been revised to 19, following the discovery of lynxes in the area. These majestic cats have led to a redesign, ensuring their habitat is protected.
The project, backed by regional development efforts, has been recognised by the Wirtschaftsbund Oberösterreich. Despite no specific operator being named, the organisation involved is committed to sustainable development.
The Windpark Sandl project continues, with 19 turbines now planned. The delay in the regulation and the redesign considering lynx presence show a commitment to responsible development. The project's future looks promising.
