Warnings Issued by Federal Authorities at 10 Sites, One of Which is in Bremen

In a significant development, the German trade union Nahrung-Genuss-Gaststätten (NGG) has announced a nationwide warning strike at ten locations of the beverage logistics company, Trinks. The strike, scheduled for July 3, 2025, is a response to two unsuccessful rounds of collective bargaining over wage increases.

Trinks, one of the leading beverage logistics companies in Germany, employs approximately 1,700 employees at 16 national locations. The company operates in various cities, including Bremen, where the strike will take place from the early shift to midday.

The strike at Trinks' Bremen location is not an isolated incident. The action will also affect nine other locations: Neumünster, Hamburg, Hannover, Limburg, Neubrandenburg, Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, and Frankfurt a.M.

The dispute between the NGG and Trinks centres around the employer's two-stage offer for a new collective agreement with a term of 27 months. The union, however, finds this offer insufficient and is demanding an increase of all wages and salaries by 300 euros gross for a term of twelve months.

In addition to the monthly wage increase, the NGG is also pressing for a proportional increase in remuneration for trainees for all training years. The employer's current offer includes an additional 90 euros gross per month from October 1, 2025, and a further 65 euros from October 1, 2026.

To further demonstrate their resolve, the NGG has proposed a one-time payment of 100 euros net for the months of July to September 2025. This proposed payment is not part of the employer's current offer.

Rewe, a well-known German retail company, holds a 50% stake in Trinks. Other significant shareholders include Bitburger Braugruppe, Krombacher Brauerei, and Warsteiner Brauerei, each holding a 16.67% stake.

The logistics and supply chain sectors are susceptible to disruptions due to strikes, and this strike at Trinks could potentially impact businesses that rely on their services. For the latest updates on the situation, it is advisable to check news outlets or the NGG's official website.

The ongoing dispute between the Nahrung-Genuss-Gaststätten (NGG) and beverage logistics company, Trinks, has escalated, impacting not only Trinks' Bremen location but also nine other national locations. This industry-wide strike, centered around wage increases and remuneration for trainees in the finance sector, may potentially cause disruptions in the logistics and supply chain, affecting various energy-related businesses.
