After a decade of service at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, Guido Warlimont is set to take on a new challenge. The 54-year-old communications expert has been appointed by Tanja Gönnert, CEO of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), to head the newly created 'Communication' department.
The BDI, a powerful voice for the German industry, has established this new department to streamline its media relations, online communication, marketing, and event management. Starting March 1, the new department will oversee these key areas, aiming to enhance the BDI's strategic communication.
Guido Warlimont, who previously held the position of Head of Communication at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, will lead this new venture. During his tenure there, he was responsible for the institute's communication strategies, a role that has undoubtedly prepared him for his new position.
Tanja Gönnert expressed her confidence in Warlimont's abilities, stating, "Guido's expertise in communication will significantly strengthen our strategic communication efforts." Warlimont will report directly to Gönnert in his new role.
