Venture Catalysts Secures INR 150 Crore to Amplify Leadership and Introduce New Funds
In an exciting development, Venture Catalysts, a leading multi-stage venture investing platform, has successfully raised INR 150 crore (approximately USD 18 million) in a funding round. The raised capital will be utilised for launching new funds and developing AI-enabled tools to enhance due diligence and reporting for limited partners.
The fundraising was a combination of primary and secondary share sales, with a diverse group of investors participating. Notable among these are Ashish Kacholia and group, Authum Investments, Aishwarya Rai, Karthik Sundar Iyer, Hardik Patel of Finquest, LNB Group, Mukul Agarwal, Shahrukh Khan Family Office, Sakal Media Group, Utpal Sheth and Vinod Dugar of RDB Group, and several other esteemed entities such as Enam Securities, Capri Global, Anil Singhvi (Zee Business), Aman Gupta (boAt), Ritesh Agarwal (OYO), Nirmit Parikh (Apna), and Srinath Ramakkrushnan (Zetwerk).
Venture Catalysts, founded in 2016, operates through deal-by-deal syndication using angel alternative investment funds and also runs a venture capital arm that builds Category II AIFs with institutional anchors and fund managers. The firm currently manages assets of over USD 500 million across funds, of which about USD 200 million has been deployed through syndication.
The latest funding round saw the valuation of Venture Catalysts as a platform being approximately USD 200 million on a post-money basis. It's important to note that this valuation pertains only to Venture Catalysts as a platform and not to the funds it manages.
Secondary deals were priced separately between existing stakeholders and new investors. The raised capital will also be directed towards strengthening leadership teams within the organisation.
Venture Catalysts' portfolio includes more than 400 companies such as Renee Cosmetics, InsuranceDekho, BharatPe, Zypp Electric, Wiom, and Kissan Konnect. The AI-enabled tools being developed are intended to streamline and improve the efficiency of these operations.
