Unpaid status despite payment confirmation
Article Title: Understanding Payment Delays on Our Platform
We'd like to address a concern that some of our users might have encountered: delays in the payment confirmation process. Rest assured, these delays are a normal part of our secure transaction system, designed to prevent fraud and ensure the highest level of security for all our participants.
When you authorize a payment, whether it's through PayPal or VISA/Mastercard, the process doesn't immediately reflect as confirmed on our user interface. Here's why:
For PayPal transactions, the payment may initially appear as a pending authorization or pending order. This is because PayPal needs to verify the payment, confirm the authorization with the seller, or allow the seller up to 30 days to complete the transaction, especially in cases where the transaction needs further validation or involves currency conversion. PayPal might also hold payments temporarily for risk assessments, fraud checks, or account verification purposes, which can delay funds availability on our user interface [1][3].
Similarly, for VISA/Mastercard transactions, after a purchase, the card issuer typically places an authorization hold on the amount, showing it as pending or authorized but not yet fully settled. This delay reflects the time it takes for the merchant to complete the transaction and for the card networks to process and clear the payment [2].
It's important to note that the typical delay until payment confirmation varies. For PayPal, instant transfers to a bank account or card may take a few minutes to hours, but standard transfers can take about 1 to 3 business days. Pending authorization periods can last up to 30 days depending on the seller’s processing time and any holds PayPal imposes [1][2]. For VISA/Mastercard, authorization holds typically last from a few minutes to several days (often up to 5 business days) before settling, depending on the merchant’s clearing process and issuer’s policies.
We understand that these delays can be frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience they may cause. We appreciate your patience as we work to ensure that every transaction is secure and accurate.
To keep you updated, we advise checking the user interface again in a couple of days for an updated payment status. Please note that the updated payment status on the user interface does not occur in real-time. The process of confirming payments involves both your bank and ours, and there are still unavoidable delays in the confirmed payment process.
We thank you for your continued support and patience during this process. Our team is committed to providing you with the best possible experience, and we're always working to improve our systems to make transactions as smooth and hassle-free as possible.
