Ukraine's President Zelensky plans to enact a prolonged ban on business inspections.

Hear ye, hear ye! In a bold move to bolster Ukraine's economy and entrepreneurial spirit, President Volodymyr Zelensky has decided to slap a long-term ban on annoying business inspections. Announced at the "State and Business Forum: From Rumble to Partnership" in June of this year, this decision comes hot on the heels of a chat with the president himself.
"I've given the okay for us to cook up some official sauce regarding a long-term ban on business inspections. It's high time we shield businesses from any dirtbags in government positions looking to put the squeeze on 'em," Zelensky shared, keeping things real and straightforward.
Growing the economy is key to Ukrainian resilience, according to our prez. To drive this growth, Kyiv plans to beef up the Council for Entrepreneurship Support, aiming to build a fertile ground for Ukraine's small business scene.
Zelensky put it this way, "Even with this brutal war with Russia going down, we can count on our entrepreneurs to deliver the goods, from manufacturing and logistics to services in all sectors, from national security to everyday life. And let's not forget about homegrown innovations and investments."
Since Russia's full-scale invasion in early 2022, Ukraine had temporarily waived certain business regulations, including tax inspections. President Zelensky signed a bill to lift the tax inspection moratorium for certain businesses in December 2023. Fast forward to June 2025, Ukraine's economy is still reeling from the massive 29.1% drop in GDP in 2022.
But fear not, dear entrepreneurs! Not only are we putting an end to overzealous business inspections, but Ukraine's new Prosecutor General, Ruslan Kravchenko, has also announced an audit of criminal cases related to businesses to weed out any corruption.
"My second priority is to tackle the mess surrounding businesses, stand up for businesses, and ensure justice," Kravchenko said.
jumping on the bandwagon, Kravchenko wrote on his Telegram channel, "I'm committed to safeguarding the rights and interests of investors and businesses - no funny business here! This focus won't interfere with our legal rights or the necessary EU integration reforms."
