Trendyol and TİM ink strategic partnership agreement
Get ready for a game-changer in Turkey's e-commerce scene! The Turkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) and the powerhouse platform, Trendyol, just teamed up for a strategic partnership with a mission to supercharge Turkey's cross-border e-commerce ecosystem[6].
Under this alliance, Trendyol steps in as TİM's e-export partner, aiming to educate folks about the benefits of e-exporting, hosting skill-building sessions, and spearheading collaborative projects throughout Turkey.
"We're stepping into a new e-export era!" exclaimed TİM President Mustafa Gültepe. He added that Turkey's e-export volume surged 27% last year to hit $6.4 billion, which seems modest compared to the overall exports—still only accounting for 2.6%[7].
That's a clear sign there's plenty of room for growth, and it's not just for big businesses. The e-export game is open to individual entrepreneurs, small producers, and designers, too. Today, over half a million businesses in Turkey are involved in e-commerce[8].
Gültepe's vision includes organizing e-export meetings in all seven regions of Turkey, with a special focus on encouraging women entrepreneurs, young producers, and small businesses to jump on the e-export bandwagon[9].
With export targets of $280 billion this year and $375 billion by 2028, Gültepe emphasized that tapping into e-export potential is crucial to meet those ambitious goals[10].
Trendyol Group President Çaglayan Çetin revealed that the platform has previously helped over 120,000 business partners enter export markets[11]. He highlighted that this collaboration would further strengthen Turkey's e-export landscape, increasing visibility for products tagged "Made in Turkey" and creating a unified strategy for e-exports[12].
"This partnership marks a significant step towards orchestrating a harmonious ecology for e-exports in Turkey," Çetin said[13].
