The city seeks proposals for deciding on two significant infrastructure changes.

On July 9, 2025, the city of Halle (Saale) will host a significant event to mark the ceremonial handover of funding decisions for two major projects. The event, taking place at the RAW site on Karl-von-Thielen-Straße, will bring together key figures from the city, state, and federal government.

The Center for Sustainable Materials and Energy (CSME) project is a state-of-the-art laboratory and office building, costing 70 million euros, which will be constructed on the Weinberg Campus. Dr. Ulf-Marten Schmieder, CEO of TGZ Halle Technologie- und Gründerzentrum Halle GmbH, will present the CSME project during the event. The new building will provide high-tech infrastructure for research-intensive start-ups and young technology companies.

Simultaneously, the RAW site will undergo a transformation into a sustainable urban quarter, with approximately 203 million euros being invested in the project. Robert Weber, CEO of the Entwicklungs- und Verwaltungsgesellschaft Halle Saalkreis mbH, will explain the plans for the RAW site transformation during the event. The initiative aims to preserve the site's industrial heritage while adapting it for modern uses, including residential, commercial, and cultural spaces.

Minister President Dr. Reiner Haseloff will present the funding decisions for both projects during the ceremony. Mayor Dr. Alexander Vogt will also give a welcoming speech. The event marks a significant milestone in the ongoing revitalization and development of Halle (Saale) as a hub for innovation and sustainability.
