The Syktyvkar Pulp and Paper Mill (Syktyvkar LPK) has been awarded the prestigious "ECO-TECH LEADER 2025" in the field of ecological technologies. The mill's focus on improving environmental indicators, particularly its reduction of harmful emissions, has earned it recognition as a leader in sustainable industrial practices.

Now in its fifth year, the "ECO-TECH LEADER" competition supports companies implementing advanced solutions in environmental safety and sustainable development. Over 200 enterprises participated in the 2025 competition, making it a highly competitive platform for promoting ecological technologies in Russia.

Syktyvkar LPK's winning project centered around reducing harmful emissions into the atmosphere. The mill undertook a comprehensive approach, introducing upgraded filtration and scrubbing systems to capture and neutralize various airborne pollutants, such as sulfur compounds and particulate matter.

Energy efficiency improvements were also a key part of the project. By optimizing energy consumption and incorporating eco-friendly technologies, the mill reduced its carbon footprint and minimized greenhouse gas emissions. Wastewater treatment enhancements, although indirect, further contributed to better overall environmental performance.

The project enabled Syktyvkar LPK to meet or exceed regional and international environmental standards, thereby securing environmental certifications and recognition. The successful implementation earned the mill accolades for environmental stewardship, highlighting its commitment to sustainable industrial practices.

The mill's focus on improving environmental indicators is evident in its reduction of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. Over the past five years, Syktyvkar LPK has significantly reduced NOx emissions into the atmosphere by 4%. This achievement, given the mill's production scale, is a significant step towards preserving the environment.

Vladimir Druzhkov, General Director of Syktyvkar LPK, attributed the mill's victory to the consistent work of its employees in implementing modern technologies and preserving the environment. The mill won in the "Reduction of Harmful Emissions into the Atmosphere" category, sharing the victory with Industrial East Engineering (Moscow) and Condor-Eco (Yaroslavl region).

All participants' projects in the "ECO-TECH LEADER" competition are included in the "ECO-TECH PRO" media catalog, providing a valuable resource for companies seeking to implement sustainable practices. The Syktyvkar Pulp and Paper Mill's inclusion in this catalog serves as a testament to its commitment to environmental sustainability.

Science and finance play significant roles in the Syktyvkar Pulp and Paper Mill's efforts to minimize its environmental impact. The mill's winning project, a comprehensive approach to reducing harmful emissions, incorporated advancements in filtration and scrubbing systems, energy efficiency improvements, and wastewater treatment enhancements. This project was fueled by a strategic investment in technology for environmental preservation, demonstrating the mill's dedication to sustainable industrial practices and its commitment to meeting both regional and international environmental standards.
