Pforzheim Residents to Experience Lower Energy Costs in 2024
Good news for residents of Pforzheim, Germany! The city's utility provider, Stadtwerke Pforzheim (SWP), has announced energy price reductions for electricity, gas, and water, effective January 1, 2024.
Electricity Price Reduction
The monthly basic price for electricity will decrease from 12.39 euros to 13.38 euros, resulting in a saving of around 39 euros per year for an average four-person household consuming 4,000 kWh annually. After keeping water prices stable since 2018, SWP has announced an increase in water prices starting in 2024. The price of water will rise from 2.25 euros to 2.77 euros per cubic meter, resulting in additional costs of around 90 euros per year for an average household[3].
District Heating Price Reduction
Although the exact amount of the reduction in net work prices for district heating at the turn of the year is not yet clear, SWP has confirmed that there will be a reduction[1].
