Summer Interns Rank Our Site Among Top 10 "Ideal" Law Firms in Law360 Pulse Survey

Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, a leading international law firm, has announced significant changes to its summer program for 2023. The firm, which was ranked number eight among the Top 15 'Dream' Firms by Law360 Pulse, is moving from a five-week program to a full 10-week program.

This extended program length will help maintain a lighter pace for each summer associate's workday, allowing them to better immerse themselves in the firm's culture and build meaningful relationships. Beth Miller, the chief legal talent officer at Gump, stated, "We are capping the number of participants in meetings and gatherings to allow for quality interactions."

The summer program is designed to facilitate communication among summer associates and lawyers, particularly through resource groups that allow participants to connect with those with whom they share an affinity. The interactions in the program are intended to happen in groups of four to six participants, ensuring a more personal and focused experience.

Lauren Marsh, the director of attorney recruiting, is making summer associates aware of the firm's existing resource groups for employees. These groups provide a platform for discussions on various topics, including diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as professional development and career advancement.

The aim of these changes is to help summer associates build networks that could aid their success during the summer and when they potentially become associates. By fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, Gump is investing in the future of its workforce, ensuring that each summer associate has the opportunity to thrive and grow within the firm.

Gump's summer program is not just about work, but also about building lasting relationships. The program is designed to allow summer associates and lawyers to effectively get to know each other in small groups, creating a foundation for future collaboration and friendship.

With offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP boasts a diverse and international team of over 900 lawyers. The firm's commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in its summer program, which seeks to create an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
