Streamlining Proposals for Bureaucracy Removal from Federal Departments

The upcoming October cabinet meeting is set to provide clarity on the specific plans for reducing bureaucracy in federal ministries. The relief projects for reducing bureaucracy have been submitted by various federal departments, and the Ministry of Digital and State Modernization is expected to play a significant role in these initiatives.

The Ministry of Digital and State Modernization, under the leadership of Digital Minister Karsten Wildberger (CDU), is responsible for modernizing administration, reducing bureaucracy, improving networks, managing data traffic, and providing online citizen services.

The concrete proposals for reducing bureaucracy include abolishing at least 20% of federal administrative regulations, suspending numerous statistical obligations, cutting bureaucracy costs for the economy by 25% (approximately 16 billion euros), and lowering compliance costs by at least 10 billion euros. These measures will be bundled annually in legislation for bureaucracy reduction.

However, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Digital and State Modernization did not provide details on specific plans, instead referring to internal government consultations. The relief measures are being evaluated by the current government, and the October cabinet meeting is expected to further evaluate these measures.

The deadline for ministries to submit concrete plans for reducing bureaucracy was September 15, and ministries have reported several relief projects they are currently working on. The federal government, according to reports, is on the same page regarding these relief measures.

The October cabinet meeting will be a crucial event, with deregulation and de-bureaucratization being the focus. Specific plans regarding bureaucracy reduction are expected to become clearer during this meeting. The relief projects for reducing bureaucracy are anticipated to have a significant impact on streamlining government processes and improving efficiency.
