Station closure at Johanneskirche from 10th to 16th September
The city of Arnsberg is currently experiencing a delay in the completion of the Johanneskirche Neheim bus stop, which is part of its 2025/2026 funding program for barrier-free bus stop expansion. The delay is due to the installation of passenger shelters, originally planned for the construction phase but could not be delivered and installed then.
The manufacturer of the planned passenger cabins for the Johanneskirche Neheim-Haltepunkt in Arnsberg is Schäfer Container Systems. The installation is scheduled to take place from September 10 to September 16, under full closure. To minimise traffic restrictions, the "small Schobbostraße" will be reopened for two-way traffic during the construction phase.
During the installation of the passenger shelters, the Johanneskirche Neheim bus stop is being developed as a double stop. Simultaneously, final work on the sidewalk surfaces at the bus stop will be completed.
It is important to note that the "small Schobbostraße" will remain closed for two-way traffic during the installation of the passenger shelters. The city of Arnsberg asks passengers and residents to understand the inevitable inconveniences caused by the construction.
The Johanneskirche Neheim bus stop, located at Neheimer Markt Street No. 11-15, was initially expected to be completed by August 2025. However, due to production issues, the two planned passenger shelters could not be delivered and installed during the construction phase.
The expansion of the bus stop at Johanneskirche Neheim caused the "small Schobbostraße" to be reopened for two-way traffic during a previous phase. The Johanneskirche Neheim bus stop is a significant development for the city of Arnsberg, aiming to provide a more accessible and comfortable experience for its bus passengers.
The city of Arnsberg encourages patience and understanding from its residents and visitors during this construction period. The delays are regrettable, but the long-term benefits for the city's public transportation system are worth the temporary inconveniences.
