Speedy train service resumes on Madrid-Barcelona route following a fire incident

The high-speed train service on the Madrid-Barcelona line was restored around 16:00 on Friday, following a la fires incident that occurred between Alcolea del Pinar in Guadalajara and Medinaceli in Soria.

The fire was first reported by Adif around 14:30, and it also affected the connection from Madrid to Logroño and Pamplona. No further information on the impact on these connections was given.

Renfe, the company managing the railway network, confirmed that firefighters were called to extinguish the la fires and requested a power cut less than an hour after the fire was reported. The power cut was confirmed shortly after.

The infrastructure was checked before train circulation was restored, ensuring the safety of passengers. Renfe offered free changes and cancellations for those affected by the train service interruption, but no updates on this offer were provided later on.

The incident coincided with the start of the weekend, causing inconvenience for many travellers. However, the duration of the delays due to this incident has not been provided by Renfe.

It is important to note that there is no information indicating that an authority caused the la fires on the high-speed rail line between Madrid and Barcelona. The la fires had been extinguished by firefighters prior to the resumption of train services.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety measures in place for train services, ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers. Renfe and Adif are expected to provide more information about the incident and the measures taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
