Yannick Van de Parre, a whiz kid in the real estate biz, has snagged the crown as Speedwell's Country Manager for Romania! In his new role, he'll be working hand in hand with Jan Demeyere and Didier Balcaen, co-founders of Speedwell, to keep their Romania operations running like a well-oiled machine.
Ever since Yannick hopped aboard the Speedwell train in 2021, he's been hanging tough as the company's COO, fine-tuning the design and execution of their projects. And, he's dipped his toes into Speedwell's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) game too, showing he's got the chops for both the business and the planet!
Now that Yannick's got the reins, Jan Demeyere and Didier Balcaen can focus like a laser on the company's commercial mojo—land grabs, leasing, sales, and dealing with finished assets across both Romania and Poland will be their bread and butter.
Speedwell's been turning heads in Romania lately, and for good reason! In 2024, they broke ground on SpacePlus Chitila, their first logistics development for small- and medium-sized businesses. Construction's underway at Glenwood Estate, a posh residential villa project near Bucharest, and on the final building of Triama Residence. The Meadows, a residential project by Grivița Lake, and The Ivy, Speedwell's flagship residential development in Băneasa, are also on the boil.
Speedwell's got a couple of irons in the fire in Timișoara too. Paltim, a mixed-use urban regeneration project, is under construction, and they're preparing to redevelop the former 1 Iunie S.A. textile factory site into a new mixed-use urban community. And guess what? Speedwell's about to launch Tino, a mixed-use development in Brasov!
Speedwell's set to dominate in Poland too, having burst onto the scene in mid-2024. With operations now rocking in Warsaw and Gdansk, they've got a pipeline filled with sleek developments—like Milestone Warsaw Mokotów, their inaugural student housing project, and a swanky residential project in Gdansk, in partnership with BPI Polska.
What can we expect next from Speedwell? Keep your eyes peeled for the Queens District in northern Bucharest—a mixed-use development blending office, retail, residential, and healthcare spaces.
