Sochi's Winter Readiness: 350km Heating Networks Renewed, 2 More Boilers to Gas

The head of Sochi, Andrei Proshunin, has reported significant progress in the city's communal infrastructure during a recent working tour of the Adler district. Key advancements include the conversion of more boilers to natural gas and the renewal of heating networks in preparation for the winter.

By the end of the year, two more boilers will switch to natural gas, contributing to the city's environmental friendliness and reliability goals. A total of 350 kilometers of heating networks have been prepared for the winter, with 3.7 kilometers completely renewed. This modernization included installing two modern water-heating boilers and six new pump units. Looking at the broader picture, over 1100 kilometers of dilapidated heating networks have been replaced in the Kuban region over the past decade, with another 130 kilometers set to be modernized by the start of the heating season.

In Sochi, 66 boilers already operate on natural gas, and another 14 use liquefied gas. Notably, boiler No21A in Moldovka has been modernized from coal to natural gas by MUP 'Sochiteploenergo'. Preparation for the heating season in Sochi is nearing completion, with 83 out of 84 boilers ready for action. All outdated equipment at boiler No21A has been replaced, ensuring efficient and reliable heating for the upcoming winter.

These advancements are part of a large-scale program to increase environmental friendliness and reliability in Sochi's communal infrastructure. With the conversion of more boilers to natural gas and the renewal of heating networks, the city is well-prepared for the winter ahead.
