Significant Road Traffic Congestion

In the heart of Neuss, Germany, a significant road surface renovation project is underway from June 27 to July 13, 2022. The affected areas include Friedrich-Ebert-Platz, Friedrichstraße, and the intersection of Zoll-, Michael-, and Mühlenstraße.

During the first construction phase (June 27 to July 3), traffic from Jülicher Straße will be rerouted as a one-way street in the city center past the construction site. Similarly, during the second construction phase (July 4 to July 9), traffic from Weingartstraße will be directed as a one-way street towards Zollstraße past the construction site.

The third construction phase (July 11 to July 13) will affect the intersection of Zoll- / Michael- / Mühlenstraße, and the entire intersection area will be closed.

This renovation project will undoubtedly lead to temporary traffic restrictions, detours, and possible changes to bus routes or stops in the affected areas. The bus lines 828, 830, 841, 842, 843, 844, 848, 849, 851, 852, 854, 858, 864, 869, 870, 872, 873, and 877 will have detours during various phases of the construction.

Line 869 will run from the "Stadthalle" stop via the Nordkanalallee during the third construction phase. Meanwhile, buses of lines 864, 870, 872, 873, and 877 will be detoured from the "Landestheater" stop via Oberstraße, Stadthalle, and Nordkanalallee during the third construction phase. Line 842 will be detoured via Hafen- and Batteriestraße during the third construction phase.

All stops on detour routes for all construction phases will be served, regardless of the usual bus lines. Replacement stops may be set up on routes, especially in the area of Friedrich-Ebert-Platz. Passengers are advised to pay attention to signs at the stops.

Access to the street "Am alten Weiher" is possible via the one-way regulation of Friedrichstraße and Breite Straße during the first construction phase. From Kaiser-Friedrich-Straße, only left turns towards Zollstraße are allowed during the first construction phase, and from Weingartstraße, only right turns onto Nordkanalallee are allowed during the first construction phase.

Access to Friedrich-Ebert-Platz from Kaiser-Friedrich Straße is not possible during the second construction phase. The Jülicher Straße in the direction of Zollstraße will be closed during the second construction phase, but turning right into Bergheimer Straße is possible. From July 8, the Mühlenstraße will not be accessible from the direction of Zollstraße due to works by the city utilities.

Deliveries in the two construction phases can only take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, except for possible restrictions and delays in the construction process. Delivery to commercial businesses will be possible by arrangement with the construction company, but not on June 30 during the first construction phase.

The civil engineering management is committed to avoiding major inconveniences during the renovation. Further information can be found on the internet at www.stadtwerke-neuss.de and www.baustellenradar-neuss.de.

The renovation project may impact various modes of transportation within Neuss, Germany, causing temporary changes to bus routes or stops, such as the diversion of lines 869, 864, 870, 872, 873, and 877. Additionally, the finance and industry sectors might experience disruptions due to possible delivery delays and restrictions during the construction phases.
