SABEW Announces 19th Annual Best in Business Winners
The Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW) has announced the winners of its 19th annual Best in Business competition. Awards will be presented on March 29 at the Sheraton Phoenix Hotel during SABEW's 51st annual conference. Bloomberg News led the pack with 13 honors, while The New York Times and Reuters followed with 8 and 7 honors respectively.
Mina Kimes, an investigative reporter for Bloomberg News, received the Larry Birger Young Business Journalist prize. Kelly Carr and Scot Paltrow won the News Agencies Investigative category with their piece 'Unaccountable'. Notably, Carr and Paltrow were also finalists in the News Agencies Explanatory category for the same piece. This year, SABEW singled out a winner in each category for the first time.
Kevin G. Hall, SABEW president, congratulated the winners. Other notable mentions include The Los Angeles Times and ProPublica, each with 5 honors. American Banker followed closely with 6 honors.
The 19th annual Best in Business competition by SABEW has recognized outstanding work in business journalism. Winners will be celebrated at the upcoming conference in Phoenix. This year's awards reflect the diversity and excellence in the field.
