RTA Extends Al Rowaiyah Commercial Truck Area by 338%, Enhancing Available Space Substantially
The Al Rowaiyah Truck Rest Stop, strategically located near Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road, has recently undergone a significant expansion. This expansion represents a 338% growth, increasing the truck parking capacity from 40 to 175 slots.
The expanded rest stop is designed to reduce random truck parking on major roads, thereby improving overall traffic safety. RTA's Director of Traffic at the Traffic and Roads Agency, Ahmed Al Khzaimy, highlighted the importance of the expansion, stating that it supports RTA's commitment to enhancing land freight operations and aligns with its vision of "The World Leader in Seamless and Sustainable Mobility."
The expanded Al Rowaiyah Truck Rest Stop provides essential facilities for heavy vehicle drivers, including maintenance workshops for tire replacement and repairs, restrooms, and a prayer room. A diesel refueling station is also available at the rest stop.
The expansion aims to prevent truck-related accidents and ensure a safer environment for truckers. By providing a well-equipped rest stop, RTA hopes to encourage truck drivers to park in designated areas, reducing the risk of accidents on major roads.
The Al Rowaiyah Truck Rest Stop expansion is part of Dubai's ongoing efforts to enhance its road network. RTA's efforts to streamline truck movement are intended to improve traffic flow and driver comfort, contributing to Dubai's reputation as a global hub for transportation.
The exact completion date of the Al Rowaiyah truck rest area expansion is not publicly specified, but it is clear that this expansion will greatly benefit the trucking industry and contribute to the overall safety and efficiency of Dubai's road network.
