Road shutdown of A8 highway in Pforzheim, lasting from December 1st to 4th, 2023.
The Southwest branch of Autobahn GmbH has announced plans for construction work on the A8 near Pforzheim, scheduled for the upcoming weekend and extending into early December.
From December 1, 2023, at 8 p.m., the A8 will be fully closed in both directions between Pforzheim-South and Pforzheim-North junctions, remaining so until around 5 a.m. on December 4, 2023. The construction work will be carried out by Autobahn GmbH and involved construction companies.
During the closure, regional traffic will be routed via existing demand detours. The detour towards Stuttgart is via the U7a, U9, and the A8 towards Stuttgart from the Pforzheim-South junction. For those heading towards Karlsruhe, the recommended route is the U26a, U28, B10, and back onto the motorway through Mühlacker, Ötisheim, Ölbronn-Dürrn, and the B 294 at Pforzheim-North.
Interregional traffic between the Leonberg motorway junction and the Walldorf motorway interchange will be detoured via the A81 and A6 motorways. Official detour routes will be signposted during the closure to guide road users.
It is important to note that road users are advised to use the signposted detours and not "shortcuts" to minimise burdens on residents and road users. The construction work over the weekend includes demolition of the supporting structure and installation of drainage at the new Sallenbuschweg bridge, extensive crane work at the Grünbrücke, and asphalt and slope stabilization work at the "Karlsruher Hang".
For the latest updates on the exact detour routes during the weekend construction work from December 1 to December 4, 2023, it is recommended to check the Baden-Württemberg transport ministry website or local traffic news portals. These sources typically specify the alternative roads or lanes to be used during construction closures.
The closure of the A8 near Pforzheim from December 1 to December 4, 2023, will impact the automotive industry's transportation, as the construction work involves the installation of drainage at the new Sallenbuschweg bridge and asphalt work on the motorway. Finance institutions may also be affected, as delays in transportation could lead to increased costs or disruptions in logistics for companies in the automotive industry.
