Road Closure: Eiserfeld to Salchendorf stretch
Renovation of Freiengrunder Street in Waldhaus Schränke, Eiserfeld, Commences on September 29th
The renovation of Freiengrunder Street (L531) in the town of Waldhaus Schränke, Eiserfeld, will begin on Monday, September 29th. This extensive project is being carried out by North Rhine-Westphalia's Regional Branch Office South Westphalia.
The work, which includes roadway renovation, extensive earthworks, and the renewal of the entire drainage system, can only be performed with a full road closure due to the narrow road width of L531. As a result, a detour will be established, routing through Neunkirchen, Wilden, Wilnsdorf, Rinsdorf, Eisern, and Eiserfeld. The detour route will be appropriately signposted to ensure smooth navigation for commuters.
The first construction phase of the L531 renovation is set to run from September 29, 2025, to late October 2025. The second construction phase, planned for spring 2026 (weather permitting), will continue the renovation work. However, the second phase has not yet started as of the current information.
During the full road closure, commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly. The renovation is taking place in the region of North Rhine-Westphalia, and the regional office is committed to minimising disruption as much as possible.
The renovation location is in Eiserfeld, and the work will be carried out in the street named Freiengründer Street. The town of Waldhaus Schränke will benefit from the improved infrastructure once the project is completed.
Stay updated for more information on the progress of the renovation project. The regional office will provide regular updates to keep the public informed.
