Rising Premier League Interest in Juventus' Promising Player Intensifies Due to Mounting Debts

Juventus fans might face a disappointing summer as the Old Lady could lose their prized asset, Turkish wunderkind Kenan Yildiz. The Bianconeri are currently struggling under Thiago Motta, and his future is under intense scrutiny.

The club's dismal performance this season has increased the pressure on Motta, who's been in charge since last June. Juve's exit from the Champions League at the hands of PSV Eindhoven and their subsequent slip out of the Champions League spots in Serie A haven't helped his cause.

There have been rumors of discord between Motta and the players, with some taking issue with his management style. A poor season might force the club to look for a new manager, and losing out on the top four would be a severe blow to Juventus's finances.

Juve spent over $216 million on players last summer, and many have underperformed. The club's debt for the 2023/24 season stands at close to $300m, and the loss of Champions League revenue would be detrimental.

The club could consider selling Yildiz, even if they manage to qualify for the Champions League, to balance their books. Manchester United is reportedly interested in the Turkey international, who signed for Juventus on a free from Bayern Munich in 2022.

Yildiz has struggled to secure a regular starting spot this season, starting only 22 of his 28 games in Serie A and scoring just four goals and providing two assists. Juventus are believed to be demanding around $90m for Yildiz, which represents 100% profit if he's sold.

However, the club might choose to retain Yildiz if Motta leaves and offload other players instead. Federico Gatti could move to Napoli, while Manchester City could revive their interest in Andrea Cambiaso.

Even the sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, could face the axe due to the club's dissatisfaction with his spending spree last summer. It seems Juventus is heading for a major overhaul, and Yildiz's departure may be the most painful for fans.
