Revamped Wuling Starlight S Sports Utility Vehicle Now Available at $13,900 Starting Price
New Affordable Electric SUV Hits the Chinese Market: Wuling Starlight S
The automotive industry is abuzz with excitement as Wuling, a leading Chinese automaker, has launched a new affordable electric SUV, the Wuling Starlight S, designed specifically for the Chinese market.
This new addition to Wuling's lineup comes with a range of attractive offers for early adopters. Customers who purchase the vehicle now can benefit from a RMB 10,000 trade-in subsidy and up to RMB 5,000 in financing subsidies.
The Wuling Starlight S is available in both plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options. The PHEV variants have starting prices of RMB 99,800, RMB 109,800, RMB 119,800, and RMB 129,800. The BEV variants, on the other hand, have starting prices of RMB 119,800 and RMB 129,800. However, the price for the 4-door version of the Wuling Starlight S has not been disclosed in this article.
The BEV variants of the Wuling Starlight S come standard with a front motor delivering 150 kW (204 horsepower) and 310 Nm of torque. The BEV variant's 60-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery provides a CLTC pure electric range of an impressive 510 kilometers.
The hybrid variants are equipped with an electric motor delivering 150 kW and 310 Nm of torque, supporting a maximum speed of 170 km/h. The hybrid variants are available with LFP batteries of 9.5 kWh or 20.5 kWh, offering CLTC pure electric ranges of 60 kilometers or 130 kilometers respectively. When fully fueled and charged, the hybrid variants achieve a combined range of over 1,100 kilometers.
The updated Wuling Starlight S PHEV comes standard with a 1.5 L engine delivering 78 kW of power and 130 Nm of torque.
The Wuling Starlight S now offers a 4-door version, joining the popular Mini EVEV in the market with a 4-door variant. MG, another automaker, offers a similar 4-door electric vehicle in the form of the MG4 model.
It's important to note that driver assistance systems are available as optional extras for the Wuling Starlight S.
