When we hit the breaks, many roads will lead you there! A detour will suggest you to follow the A542 and the A3 to the Hilden motorway junction or the A46 to the Düsseldorf-South motorway junction. Alternatively, a local detour can be taken via the Knipprather, Düsseldorf, and Berghausener streets between the Monheim and Richrath interchanges, both marked with a red dot.

The Autobahn GmbH Rhineland plans to overhaul the A59 between Düsseldorf-South and Monheim-South in autumn 2025 with a sense of urgency. Unfortunately, moving this emergency measure isn't an option, even with the looming renovation plans.

Note: Check your route ahead as local traffic updates or navigation apps will provide the most current and efficient detour options during this closure. Official announcements from local authorities or road management bodies might also offer detailed detour recommendations closer to the closure date.
