REstable Wins First German-French Innovation Award for Renewable Energy
The REstable project, a collaborative effort between German and French renewable energy experts, has been recognised with the inaugural German-French Innovation Award. This innovative venture aims to develop a virtual power plant, harnessing both photovoltaic and wind power.
The project, led by research institutes Fraunhofer IWES and ARMINES, involves a mix of German companies such as Siemens Energy and E.ON. Their goal is to simulate the integration of renewable energy sources into the existing power system and test their impact.
The REstable project focuses on optimising and expanding the dynamic generation of renewable energies. It plans to achieve this through demand-oriented feed-in via a virtual power plant. This innovative approach aims to stabilise the grid and enhance the reliability of renewable energy sources.
The German-French component of the project includes plans to install photovoltaic-wind pilot plants in both countries. This cross-border collaboration demonstrates a commitment to advancing renewable energy technology and cooperation.
The REstable project, awarded the first German-French Innovation Award for Renewable Energies, is set to revolutionise the integration of renewable energy sources into the power grid. With its innovative virtual power plant concept and cross-border collaboration, the project promises to enhance the reliability and efficiency of renewable energy generation.
