Regensburg to Add 205 Affordable Homes by 2027
Regensburg is set to expand its affordable housing options with a significant project in the Prinz-Leopold district. By 2027, 205 subsidized apartments will rise on plot MU4, backed by around 60 million euros from the Free State of Bavaria.
The apartments, expected to be ready by mid-May 2027, will cater to a variety of residents. They will range in size to accommodate singles and families, providing homes for approximately 465 people. Rents will be income-based, with three subsidy levels (EOF1 - EOF3) ensuring affordability for many Regensburg residents, as around 60% currently qualify for such subsidies.
The project is not stopping at MU4. Construction on plot MU2 is slated to begin in 2026, with an additional 240 subsidized apartments anticipated by 2028. All apartments in MU4 will be subsidized with income-oriented subsidies (EOF). The architectural firm behind the MU4 development is bauchplan GmbH. New residents can expect a phased move-in process from late July to late August 2027.
The MU4 project in Regensburg's Prinz-Leopold district is set to provide much-needed affordable housing. With the support of the Free State of Bavaria and the expertise of bauchplan GmbH, the project aims to create a welcoming community for a diverse range of residents by 2027.
