Regensburg District: Finishing the R10 circular road before its original deadline

In the heart of Regensburg district, a significant milestone has been achieved with the modernization of a section of district road R10, stretching between Mooshof and Hagelstadt. This project, marked by sustainable planning and careful action, is set to make an important contribution to the long-term performance of the road.

The roadway in the full reconstruction area has been expanded from 5.50 meters to 6.50 meters, providing a safer and more efficient driving experience. Both sides of the roadway now boast 1.50-meter-wide shoulders, offering improved safety for cyclists and pedestrians.

The asphalt surface has been renewed, with damaged areas repaired, and shoulders restored. On the other hand, the roadside drainage system has undergone a complete overhaul, featuring ditches up to two meters wide. The redesigned system aims to enhance drainage and manage rainwater more effectively, contributing to the project's overall sustainability.

The construction work was expertly carried out by Fahrner Bauunternehmung GmbH from Barbing. The Regensburg District Office, led by District Administrator Tanja Schweiger, has expressed its gratitude to all those involved, particularly the construction company and employees at the district office, for the timely and high-quality implementation.

The total construction costs for the project are approximately 1.5 million euros, with funding provided under the Bavarian Local Traffic Financing Act. In addition, a retention basin for sustainable rainwater management is set to be constructed, with construction set to begin by the end of 2024.

It's worth noting that this project, a targeted investment in future-proof infrastructure in the southern district, does not appear in the given data of related infrastructure projects described in other regions. Therefore, for detailed information about this roadway modernization project in Regensburg district, it might be necessary to consult local governmental or transportation authority sources directly.
