Regensburg County: Accelerated Completion of R10 Circular Highway Anticipated
Regensburg district is making significant strides in its road development with the ongoing project aimed at widening the County Road R 10, improving drainage systems, and implementing modern rainwater retention methods.
The successful completion of this measure is making an important contribution to the long-term performance of County Road R 10. A sedimentation facility with partial flow treatment and bypass has been installed to regulate the discharge into the Moosgraben. Moreover, a retention basin for sustainable rainwater management is under construction, with completion expected by the end of 2024.
The roadway in the full reconstruction area has been expanded from 5.50 meters to 6.50 meters. Each side of the expanded roadway now has 1.50-meter-wide shoulders. The roadside drainage system has been redesigned, including ditches up to two meters wide.
Between Mooshof and Hagelstadt, only the asphalt surface was renewed. The top asphalt layers were milled, damaged areas repaired, and shoulders restored in this section.
The project, which includes these improvements, is an example of sustainable planning and thoughtful action. Funding for the project is provided under the Bavarian Municipal Traffic Financing Act.
District Administrator Tanja Schweiger has expressed satisfaction with the project, stating it is an investment in future-proof infrastructure. She thanks all those involved, particularly the construction company, Fahrner Bauunternehmung GmbH from Barbing, and employees at the Landratsamt, for the timely and high-quality implementation.
It is worth noting that the total construction costs for the project are approximately 1.5 million euros. For detailed information on this specific project, including the exact road segments, schedules, engineering specifications, or financial estimates, it is recommended to consult local government sources such as Regensburg district's municipal public works or transportation department websites or official project tender and planning documents.
The project's funding, provided under the Bavarian Municipal Traffic Financing Act, also encompasses strategies from other industries such as finance and transportation. The investment in future-proof infrastructure, implemented by the construction company Fahrner Bauunternehmung GmbH, will undeniably impact the broader transportation industry within the Regensburg district.
