"Profit-driven business approach becomes obsolete"
Updated Mega Mall redevelopment plans in Yekaterinburg:
Get ready for a major transformation at Mega Mall in Yekaterinburg! The shopping center's size will increase by a whopping 30%, expanding from 103,000 to 132,000 square meters.
The expansion will involve two phases:1. Constructing a new 13,000 square meter phase in autumn 2021 at the rear of the mall.2. A complete overhaul of the existing first phase, slated for autumn 2022.
This revamped shopping center will feature a children's center, a community center, and an entertainment cluster, comprising a cinema, games, and new dining spots. Aisha Aghakyan, the manager of Mega Mall, shared that the changes aim to create a "third place" - a lively community space where visitors can engage, relax, and unwind, beyond just shopping.
The estimated cost of this mega project is around 5 billion rubles, according to the project's leader, Yulia Dalnova. Although the payback period is yet to be disclosed, Aisha Aghakyan emphasized the project's commercial attractiveness.
Apparently, the mall's patrons had been longing for more entertainment and a dedicated children's center, Aisha explained. The enhancements are anticipated to foster a stronger connection between the mall and its visitors, making Mega Mall their go-to destination for leisure.
Aishat Aghakhan, the manager of Mega, stated that today's businesses should prioritize people's needs and aspirations to thrive. By placing their interests first, businesses can cultivate loyalty, ensuring their key performance indicators are met in the long run. A rare yet effective approach, she suggested.
"If we want people in our city to be united, and different forces to collaborate harmoniously, every business needs to be aware and socially responsible," Aishat shared. A business centered solely on profit, she believed, was an outdated concept.
Regarding the pandemic, Aishat assured no changes were made to the project, as safety has been a priority all along.
One of the challenges in business leaders embracing their responsibility for city affairs, she noted, was the limited mindset - a tendency to focus on creating a successful business instead of stretching to reach new communities and elevating the city as a whole. However, she remained optimistic, expecting this progressive approach to become the norm with more such locations and conscious leaders emerging.
While it's great news for Yekaterinburg, the specifics of the redevelopment, such as additional features, timeline, and costs, remain to be publicly disclosed. To stay updated on the latest developments, it's wise to keep an eye on local news sources or visit the mall or developer's official website.
