By the time the current season winds down, Omsk's road infrastructure is gonna experience a massive transformation, according to the city administration. Starting as early as July, Omsk is set to undergo a complete overhaul with a comprehensive program focusing on updating roads, sidewalks, and driveways.
This revamping process will involve both contracting organizations and the municipal institution "Management of Road Maintenance and Improvement" (UDHB). The planned improvements to the city's main roads will come first, followed by the repair and paving of roads in private sectors and the renovation of sidewalks and inter-block driveways. Approximately 231 existing sidewalks are up for repair, with 53 new ones being built in private sectors.
Moreover, the updates include the reconstruction of inter-block and intra-block driveways at 174 addresses, as well as the asphalt paving of 54 unpaved driveways in private households classified as fifth-category roads. Currently, emergency restoration work is underway across various city districts, and over 268,000 square meters of road surface have been repaired this season.
