Preparing Budget for 2026 in Sverdlovsk Region
The budget planning process for 2026 in Sverdlovsk Oblast is underway, with a focus on maintaining the continuity of the regional budget policy while incorporating new federal initiatives. The Acting Minister of Finance, Alexander Starov, has initiated conciliatory procedures to ensure a balanced budget that caters to the interests of all territories.
The regional Ministry of Finance is leading the budget process, involving finance officials, deputies of the Legislative Assembly, and representatives of regional and municipal authorities. The results of the 'municipal conciliation' process will form the basis of the draft budget for Sverdlovsk Oblast for 2026 and the planning period.
In line with the national project "Infrastructure for Life", maintenance of public territories and emergency prevention and response are earmarked for increased financial support from the regional budget to municipalities. This includes improvements in public transportation and the upkeep of municipalities, aiming to enhance the quality of life for the region's residents.
The budget also considers the dynamics of tax and non-tax revenues to ensure a sustainable financial structure. As part of this process, data from the Department of Information Policy of the region will be taken into account.
In addition, the Ministry of Finance of Sverdlovsk Oblast has recently awarded the winners of the "Budget for Citizens" competition. However, the names of the winners from the 2025 competition are not currently available.
The corresponding document, the draft budget, is planned to be presented to the members of the cabinet of ministers in October. This will mark a significant step towards finalising the budget for 2026 and setting the financial direction for the region in the coming years.
