Position available: Deputy Head of Department for Construction and Administration (M/F/D), offering both full-time and part-time opportunities.

The Sparkasse Lower Rhine, an innovative and performance-oriented bank with an asset base of over 4.2 billion euros, is seeking a Deputy Department Head (m/f/d) for its Building and Administration department. This role can be filled on a full-time or part-time basis.

As the point of contact for service providers and tradespeople, the Deputy Department Head will work closely with them, handling administrative tasks such as materials management, fleet management, or key management. The role also involves supporting the department head with complex tasks related to building projects, including planning, supervision, and accounting.

The ideal candidate should possess quick comprehension combined with creative problem-solving skills, good commercial knowledge, including accounting and bookkeeping, and a high level of initiative in dealing with new issues and challenges. Practical experience in real estate management, particularly in projects and measures related to construction and building technology, is preferred.

The Deputy Department Head should have completed studies in Facility Management, Construction, or Energy and Building Technology, or have a vocational training as a master or technician with a focus on real estate. Knowledge of fire protection, occupational safety, and building law is essential for this position.

In addition to these technical skills, the Deputy Department Head should demonstrate teamwork skills, strong customer orientation, and communication skills. They should also possess a target-oriented, business-oriented, and risk-oriented approach to work.

The Deputy Department Head will independently plan, coordinate, and implement building, modernization, and maintenance projects, considering building and safety regulations and sustainability aspects. They will also represent the department head and prepare templates, decision papers, and documentation, and support the department head in employee management and organizational tasks. The Deputy Department Head will lead the department in the absence of the department head.
