Philippine company Gorriceta expands its presence across the nation via strategic alliances

In a move to strengthen their presence and diversify their legal services, Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra, Florete Law, and Nograles Ilagan Cayco Lizada Dabi (NICLD) Law have entered into strategic partnerships. These alliances will allow clients to access over 60 lawyers across the Philippines, providing integrated legal solutions with national consistency and local depth.

Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra, a well-known name in the Philippine legal sector, has expanded its operations by forging partnerships with regional firms. This includes NICLD Law in Mindanao, as well as firms in Iloilo and Davao. Through these partnerships, Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra aims to enhance its capacity to provide comprehensive legal services across different regions of the country.

Edsel F. Tupaz, who leads Gorriceta's specialized practice group in data privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence (AI), highlights the firm's expertise in these areas. Gorriceta has demonstrated its strength in fintech and emerging regulatory areas by taking the lead in dissecting the Securities and Exchange Commission's guidelines on crypto assets.

In addition to these specializations, Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra has received accolades in tax law and tax disputes, showcasing their capabilities in tax-related legal services.

Through their partnership with NICLD Law, Gorriceta has established NICLD as their official regional partner for Mindanao, expanding their full-service offerings province-wide and enhancing local access to their legal solutions.

Florete Law, based in Iloilo, is another partner in this alliance. The partnership is expected to strengthen Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra's arbitration capabilities. It will also create opportunities in international markets, particularly for technology and intellectual property disputes.

The expansion of Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra's network through these partnerships will allow clients to access over 60 lawyers. It marks the firm's entry into the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

Migs Nograles, a former House Deputy Majority Floor Leader, and Karlo Nograles, a former Civil Service Commission Chairperson, have also joined Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra. Their addition to the team is strategic, allowing the firm to be present where clients are, understand regional nuances, and deliver integrated solutions with national consistency and local depth.

The partnerships will expand the services offered by Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra to include corporate law, technology, media and telecommunications, arbitration, litigation, labour law, real estate, and regulatory advisory. This will enable the firm to offer integrated legal services across a wide range of sectors, from startups to multinational corporations, and from public institutions to family-owned businesses.

These partnerships will not affect the independence of the regional law firms involved. Instead, they will offer legal services to a diverse range of clients while preserving local relationships and regional knowledge. The alliances, therefore, represent a significant step forward for Gorriceta Africa Cauton & Saavedra, Florete Law, and NICLD Law, as they strive to offer the best legal services to clients across the Philippines.
