In a bold move to ensure safety and regulation, the Krasnodar region has stepped up its efforts to curb illegal road passenger transportation services. The ongoing checks, led by the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, in collaboration with Rostransnadzor, law enforcement agencies, and municipalities, have resulted in a significant number of seizures and fines.

On September 17, Alexei Smaglyuk, Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure, announced the confiscation of 146 vehicles involved in illegal passenger transport. This number represents a marked increase from the 89 vehicles seized during the same period in 2024.

The heightened control measures have also led to the issuance of 231 administrative offense reports. Over 400 inspections were conducted in the cities and districts of the region from June to August, with particular focus on vehicles with up to eight seats.

The use of platforms for finding fellow travellers and applications for booking seats has simplified the identification process of illegal carriers. Individual entrepreneurs and legal entities face fines of up to 400,000 rubles for engaging in such activities. Administrative responsibility is also provided for information resources distributing data on illegal transportation, with a fine of the same amount.

Drivers engaged in regular passenger transportation under the guise of taxis are not exempt from the law either, facing a fine of 50,000 rubles.

The Krasnodar region has been particularly vigilant in the summer months, with approximately 150 vehicles engaging in passenger transportation without the necessary permits seized between June and August this year. This is a stark reminder of the importance of adhering to regulations in the transportation sector.

These efforts demonstrate a commitment to maintaining safety and order in the region's transportation system, ensuring a secure journey for all travellers.
