Over 75 Beauty Businesses Inspected in Augsburg, 15 Minimum Wage Cases Found
Over 75 hairdressing and beauty businesses across Augsburg were inspected on April 8. The Financial Control Schwarzarbeit (FKS) team, led by Gerhard Pylipp from the Main Customs Office Regensburg, looked into potential minimum wage violations and illegal employment.
More than 160 employees were checked, with over 25 cases requiring further investigation. Of these, 15 are suspected of not receiving the minimum wage. Two businesses face administrative penalties for hiring foreigners illegally.
The FKS team, part of the Main Customs Office Augsburg, regularly conducts such inspections to maintain high standards and reduce black work. They aim to ensure all employees are paid fairly and legally employed.
The inspections resulted in two penalty proceedings. Further investigation is ongoing in over 25 cases. The FKS department encourages interested individuals to attend their Career Information Day on July 19, 2025, to learn about becoming a customs officer.
