Our Company Wins €100M Amsterdam Metro Signalling Contract
Our company has been awarded a significant contract by the Municipality of Amsterdam. We will supply a new signalling system for the entire Amsterdam metro network, valued at approximately €100 million. This contract further solidifies our company's leading global position in advanced train control solutions.
The new system, based on our proven Urbalis product range, will be a CBTC (Communication Based Train Control) solution. It will first be implemented on the Ringlijn by April 2015, with full operation across the entire network by 2017. This upgrade will enable automatic train operation, increasing capacity and reducing energy consumption. The Amsterdam metro network, with over 40 km of track and 58 stations, will benefit from improved reliability and easier maintenance. The contract covers the replacement of the train control, signalling, and train supervision systems, along with associated communications networks. Work will be carried out at night to avoid disrupting existing operations.
This contract brings the number of metro lines equipped with our Urbalis product range to 50 over the last 10 years. We are committed to delivering a reliable and efficient signalling system for the Amsterdam metro network, enhancing the city's public transportation system.
