Ommerbornstraße in Bensberg to Undergo Major Renovation Starting October 6, 2025

The Ommerbornstraße in Bensberg is set for a significant renovation starting in October 2025. The project aims to improve the street's surface, reduce noise, and lower temperatures during summer. The state of NRW will fund the construction, with no contributions required from residents.

The renovation will cover the stretch between Herkenrather Straße and Oberlerbachstraße. It will be divided into three phases, with the first being the most complex. The total construction time is estimated to be 12 to 15 weeks.

The new road surface will use asphalt with a lighter, fine-grained material for the wearing course. This will help reduce temperatures and noise. The sidewalk will also be widened in specific areas, namely at house numbers 14 and 64. During construction, the road will be closed completely due to its narrow width. Defective storm drains will be repaired, and existing manhole covers and street inlets will be replaced.

The Ommerbornstraße renovation is expected to enhance the street's condition and comfort for residents and passersby. The project is scheduled to begin on October 6, 2025, and last up to 15 weeks, with no additional costs to local residents.
