NSDC CEO dismissed suddenly

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has announced the termination of Ved Mani Tiwari as CEO, effective May 16, 2025. The decision was made in a meeting by the NSDC's board of directors on May 15, according to a public notice issued on the same day.

The reason for Tiwari's departure remains undisclosed in the notice. It is worth noting that Tiwari, who was also the Managing Director (MD) of NSDC International, had been part of the organization since March 2021. Prior to joining NSDC, he was associated with several notable entities such as Welspun Group, Sterlite Power, Kochi Metro Rail, and the ministry of railways.

The NSDC is a not-for-profit public limited company, established in 2008, and operates as a public-private partnership (PPP) under the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship (MSDE). Despite the leadership change, the NSDC remains dedicated to its mission of addressing the skill-set gap in India's workforce. To date, the organization has onboarded 40.3 million individuals, with 12.9 million coming from socio-economically disadvantaged groups. The NSDC operates over 40,000 skilling centers across the country, aiming to reach 50,000 centers by the end of this year.

The termination process is expected to follow legal procedures, with specific details about the reasons behind the decision yet to be disclosed. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
