Newly Established Regional Government Council
In a significant move, Landshut County has chosen to lease the new Landshut County Administration Building, constructed by the municipal enterprise LAKUBAU. The construction project has been streamlined thanks to LAKUBAU's involvement, ensuring a smooth execution.
Maximilian Lakemann serves as the CEO of LAKUBAU. During the construction process, the committee overseeing the project was accompanied by county auditor Karl-Heinz Fischer and the head of administration, Peter Poesze.
The construction price index has seen an increase of approximately 40 percent, yet the building's cost remains below the indexed cost cap. LAKUBAU secured a loan of 55 million euros for the construction at an extremely low interest rate, under one percent.
A significant portion of the loan, around six million euros, has already been repaid. The loan agreement has a fixed term of 30 years.
The new administration building, located in Essenbach, is currently under inspection by the Audit Committee of Landshut County, led by chairman Josef Klaus (CSU). The committee is also responsible for reviewing and evaluating the county's budget.
The construction costs of the new building are capped at around 75 million euros. By eliminating rental costs for facilities like the Youth Office in Altdorf, the TÜV building in Ergolding, and LAKUMED's space constraints, the county would have incurred approximately 50 million euros in expenses over this period. However, with the new building, these costs are expected to be less than one percent of the county's share for 30 years, due to the elimination of rental costs for other facilities.
The county administration's move to the new building is planned for late September, with the first opening day expected on October 6. Despite the challenges posed by rising construction costs, LAKUBAU's transparency in financing the project has ensured a fiscally responsible approach.
In conclusion, the new Landshut County Administration Building, constructed by LAKUBAU, represents a cost-effective solution for the county, providing a modern workspace while reducing long-term expenses associated with rental costs.
