The Kaiserberg intersection, located between Venlo and Arnhem, will experience a temporary closure starting on August 27. This closure is due to the construction of temporary ramps for a new structure, as announced by Autobahn GmbH.

The closure will prevent access from the A40 towards Venlo to the A3 towards Arnhem, and also from the A40 towards Duisburg to the A3 towards Cologne. These closures are expected to last for several months.

During this period, drivers will have to take detours, marked with red dots, to navigate around the closure. The A3 in the direction of Cologne will be closed again starting at 9 PM, after the Kaiserberg intersection closure. The transition from the A40 towards Venlo to the A3 in the direction of Cologne will be closed at the same time.

The closure is part of a larger project, involving the renovation of the Kaiserberg intersection and the construction of a new structure. The renovation is expected to take another five to six years, with an estimated cost of 450 million euros.

It is important to note that there is no available information about road closures, renovations, status, timelines, or estimated costs specifically for the A40 and A3 highways in Venlo, Duisburg, Cologne, and Arnhem or the Kaiserberg intersection, beyond the information provided above. For more detailed local infrastructure information, drivers are advised to check the official websites of the transportation departments or motorway authorities in Germany (for Duisburg and Cologne), the Netherlands (for Venlo and Arnhem), or regional traffic information portals.

The transition from the A40 towards Duisburg to the A3 towards Cologne has been closed since the beginning of the year and is expected to reopen in January next year, separate from the current closures. This closure will not affect the traffic to Venlo and Arnhem.

The closure at the Kaiserberg intersection is expected to be lifted on September 17, providing relief to drivers and restoring access between the A40 and A3 highways. Drivers are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly and check for any updates on the official websites or traffic information portals to ensure a smooth journey.
