Multiple European Stellantis vehicle models under recall due to potential fire hazard
Stellantis, the parent company of automotive brands such as Peugeot, Opel, Citroën, Fiat, and DS, has announced a worldwide recall of approximately 757,000 vehicles due to a fire risk caused by a faulty connection between the high-pressure fuel line and fuel rail.
The faulty connection can lead to fuel leakage, which, in turn, can ignite on hot engine parts, causing vehicle fires. Affected models include Opel's Grandland, Corsa, Mokka, Frontera, Astra (produced between November 2022 and April 2025), Peugeot's 208, 308, 408, 2008, 3008, 5008, Citroën's C3, C4, C5, C5X, Aircross, Fiat's Grande Panda, 600, and DS3, DS4, among others.
The repair for this issue is straightforward and involves tightening the fuel line connections properly with the correct torque to prevent fuel leakage and eliminate the fire risk. Stellantis urges vehicle owners to visit their local workshop as soon as possible to have the repair carried out.
In Germany, 85,642 cars are affected, with the majority being from the brands Opel and Peugeot. The German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) has announced that this issue has led to 11 vehicle fires by June 17, 2025, and has ordered Stellantis to inform affected customers by letter.
Affected customers are advised to avoid using their vehicles until the repair has been completed. Stellantis has assured its customers that it is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its customers and will do everything possible to rectify this issue promptly.
