Madhya Pradesh, the largest producer of organic cotton in India, is set to revolutionise its cotton and textile industry with the upcoming establishment of the country's first PM Mitra Park. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for this agricultural-based industrial initiative in Bhainsola village, Dhar district, on Wednesday.

The Dhar PM Mitra Park, spanning over 2,158 acres, will be a hub of modernity and innovation. Equipped with world-class facilities, the park will boast a 20 MLD common effluent treatment plant, a 10 MVA solar power plant, reliable water and electricity supply, modern roads, and 81 plug-and-play units.

The park has garnered significant interest, with a total of 114 companies expressing their intent to set up ventures, promising to invest a staggering Rs 23,000 crore. Of these, 91 companies have been granted approval to commence their operations. The land allotment committee has sanctioned 1294.19 acres to these approved companies.

The park is projected to generate one lakh direct and two lakh indirect employment opportunities, making it a significant boost for the local economy. Moreover, more than six lakh cotton farmers in Madhya Pradesh, particularly in the Malwa region, are expected to benefit directly from the Dhar PM Mitra Park.

The park will focus on local processing of cotton-spinning, weaving, and garment manufacturing for value addition of locally available raw materials. This initiative aims to transform the cotton and textile ecosystem of Madhya Pradesh, providing a platform for sustainable growth and development.

The Dhar PM Mitra Park will also feature housing and social facilities for workers and women staff, making it an ideal industrial township. Notable companies such as Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Hero MotoCorp have shown interest in establishing operations in the park, with around 15 companies already approved and allotted approximately 200 acres of land.

The park's location in Madhya Pradesh, the largest producer of organic cotton, underscores the government's commitment to promoting sustainable and locally-oriented industrial growth. With the launch of the Dhar PM Mitra Park, the region stands on the brink of a new era of economic prosperity and environmental responsibility.
