MIH Consortium Chooses BlackBerry for Next-Gen EV Platform
The Mobility in Harmony (MIH) Consortium has chosen BlackBerry as the software foundation provider for its next-generation electric vehicle (EV) platform. This collaboration will see MIH utilise BlackBerry's QNX product portfolio and IVY platform to create an open and agnostic EV platform.
MIH, focusing on intelligent user experiences and smart living, plans to unveil 'Project X', a single-row three-seater EV tailored for Asian consumers, in late 2023. This project is part of MIH's strategy to provide more vehicle segment choices, with six-seater and nine-seater platforms planned for the future.
BlackBerry, through its BlackBerry QNX, will provide MIH with high-performance, safe, and secure foundational software. This includes QNX Software Development Platform (SDP 7.1) licenses, middleware technologies, and engineering professional services. Mattias Eriksson, President of BlackBerry IoT, expressed excitement about joining the MIH consortium to transform the EV industry.
The MIH Consortium, aiming to revolutionize the EV industry through collaboration, has found a perfect partner in BlackBerry. With BlackBerry's software and MIH's vision, the future of mobility and green logistics is set to be redefined.
