Metro's corporate communications are now under the control of Bollow

Ivonne Bollow, Senior Vice President Corporate Responsibility & Public Policy at METRO AG, is set to assume a more expansive role within the company following the departure of Gerd Koslowski. Koslowski, who has been serving as Senior Vice President Corporate Communications, is leaving METRO in Düsseldorf, effective June 1, to focus on his candidacy for the position of full-time mayor of Frechen.

Bollow, a key figure in METRO's Public Policy and Corporate Responsibility departments since February 2016, will take over the leadership of Corporate Communications at METRO. The consolidation of Public Policy, Corporate Responsibility, and Corporate Communications is intended to facilitate METRO's interaction with external stakeholders and is part of a broader restructuring initiative at the company.

Before her current role, Bollow served as Director Eastern Europe & International Affairs in the Corporate Public Policy area, representing METRO Group's interests particularly in Eastern Europe and Asia. This consolidation, which is expected to take effect immediately following Koslowski's departure, is aimed at enhancing METRO's engagement with external stakeholders and streamlining operations to improve efficiency.

The vacancy in the Corporate Communications position, previously held by Koslowski, will not be filled. Bollow will continue to report directly to the CEO of METRO and will also continue to hold her current responsibilities for Public Policy and Corporate Responsibility at METRO.

The restructuring at METRO does not affect the company's operations in Düsseldorf. Bollow's expanded role at METRO is a testament to her leadership and contributions to the company. The consolidation of departments under Bollow is expected to strengthen METRO's commitment to corporate responsibility and public policy, ensuring a cohesive approach in engaging with external stakeholders.

Bollow's expanded role, encompassing Public Policy, Corporate Responsibility, and Corporate Communications, is expected to have an impact on METRO's finance and business operations, as she will lead the company's interaction with external stakeholders. The consolidation of these departments under Bollow's leadership aligns with METRO's lifestyle ambition to streamline operations and foster a cohesive approach, ultimately contributing to the company's overall efficiency and success.
