Cranking Up the Construction:

The metro builders in Krasnoyarsk have surpassed yet another milestone — the total length of the initial tunnels for the new subway system now stands at 3 kilometers! On the city's main square, the installation of the third, third in the series, tunnel boring machine has commenced.

Over the autumn of 2024, the "Ekaterina" and "Solomeya" boring machines painstakingly advanced, one following the other, like a determined duo on a mission.

"These complexes have pushed further than they have in the last 15 years!" proclaimed the Kransnoyarsk Metro's social media post.

Currently, the machines are stationed near Ploshchad Pobedy on Pokrovskaya Hill, steaming ahead towards ul. Karl Marksa, the future location of the identical station next to the city hall. As a reminder, they have a significant challenge ahead: the underground structures near the Kacha River.

"Bamtonnelstroi-Most," the contractor, has already installed over 2130 concrete rings, while the workforce on the construction site exceeds 2115 individuals.

Let's not forget that work is progressing on the other end of the first metro line, too — recently, Moscow's metrotram general contractor, Mosproekt-3, announced a search for a demolition-specific contractor on ul. Kopylova, where three Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) will arrive. Interestingly, the tunnel from the terminal station, "Ul. Vysotnaya," will be dug by a Chinese company.

Check out the montage of TBM assembly on Ploshchad Revolyutsii, Krasnoyarsk:

Meanwhile, assembly of the tunnel boring machine, "Anastasia," has begun at Ploshchad Revolyutsii's construction pit. The tunnels will snake outwards in various directions from the city square — one will head towards the train station (st. "Vozaalnaya") and the other towards the city hall (st. "Ul. Karl Marksa").

The news about Krasnoyarsk's metro line expansion has sparked interest in the industry, particularly in the finance sector as investor interest grows. Furthermore, the transportation sector will significantly benefit from the new subway system, making commuting more efficient for residents.
