Metals Corporation secures approval from the competition authority for the sale of its ownership in the Kombat Mine to Horizon.
Trigon Metals Inc. Moves Forward with Kombat Mine Sale to Horizon Corporation
Trigon Metals Inc., a Canadian exploration and development company with a focus on copper and silver holdings in mining-friendly African jurisdictions, has received approval from the Namibian Competition Commission for the sale of its interest in the Kombat Mine. This approval marks a significant step towards the final stages of the sale, known as the Transaction.
The Transaction, announced on May 29, 2025, involves Trigon Metals Inc. selling its 80% stake in the Kombat Mine to Horizon Corporation. The sale is expected to facilitate a smooth project expansion and mine restart, as expressed by Richard Tayelor, Director of Horizon Corporation.
Horizon Corporation has demonstrated its commitment to ensuring sustainable operations for the benefit of all parties. The approval also ensures continued community involvement through Epangelo Mining's 10% shareholding in the Kombat Mine.
In addition to the Kombat Mine, Trigon Metals Inc. is actively involved in other exploration projects. In Namibia, the company holds the Kalahari Copperbelt Project, and in Morocco, it is advancing two exploration projects: Addana and Silver Hill. Addana, like Silver Hill, hosts silver-bearing veins along with other metals.
Trigon Metals Inc. has not announced any new transactions since the sale to Horizon Corporation. For further information about the company and its projects, interested parties can reach out to Tom Panoulias, VP Corporate Development, or visit the Trigon Metals Inc. website at www.trigonmetals.com.
The Namibian Competition Commission played a crucial role in the realization of the transaction, having granted approval on September 12, 2025. Mr. Knowledge Katti, a founding shareholder in Trigon Namibia, expressed pride in the approval, as it marks a pivotal moment for the Kombat Mine.
The granting of competition approval initiates the final steps towards closing the Transaction. Trigon Metals Inc. will provide further updates as the parties advance toward completion of the Transaction, which remains subject to the final approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.
